Since April 2016, Cheryl has been a consistent and supportive presence in her youth’s life, demonstrating unwavering commitment through all the ups and downs. Brought into the system due to neglect, Cheryl has gone above and beyond, ensuring that the youth maintain connections with his half-siblings even after their adoption. She has advocated for the youth to retain his previous educational rights holders, recognizing their understanding of his learning style and the importance of continuity in his education. Cheryl has engaged with the youth’s school, conducting research and meetings to ensure he receives the necessary support to graduate on time, despite the challenges posed by his absence from school for a year. She has actively sought opportunities for him to participate in events such as the YES conference and the Love Your Space Workshop.
