This month, we feature CASA Chere Smith for her resiliency in advocacy for some of our toughest cases. For the past three years, Chere has supported six children and youth, each case offering its own set of complexities that Chere has navigated with ease and commitment.
Her current case is a 16-year-old youth who has no family connections. Through every obstacle, Chere has remained the one consistent person in her youth’s life, showing up when times get tough. She has helped him get involved with ILP services, ensured his participation in life skills classes, and is actively working to connect him with the resources he needs to prepare for adulthood. Chere is also committed to her growth, continuously seeking training opportunities to enhance her advocacy skills.
Chere is making a profound impact in each child’s life she touches. Thank you, Chere, for your passion and commitment to each child you’ve spoken up for in our judicial system!
